The Committee for Geelong is partnering with the Barwon Health Foundation to support raising funds for the Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund. The Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund, with an initial goal of raising $1million, will be used to fund an increased capacity of beds and clinics, purchase vital medical equipment, co-ordinate volunteers, support our infectious diseases team and be ready to assist with high priority, fast-emerging initiatives that will help Barwon Health during this health crisis. The Committee for Geelong knows that these funds will ease the pressure on health workers during the CoVid-19 health crisis.

Committee for Geelong CEO, Jennifer Cromarty, said that in times of crises, the people of Geelong come together.

“We saw how well our community came together recently to support and fundraise for people devastated from the bushfires. I know that we will now also help our healthcare workers and donate to the Coronavirus Emergency Response Fund – the first fund of its kind in Victoria.

“Committee for Geelong has created a fundraising page to support the Barwon Health Foundation and donated $1000 to kickstart the fundraising effort  – Visit this link to donate. https://coronaviruserf.everydayhero.com/au/committee-for-geelong-covid-19

“We thank the Barwon Health Foundation for acting swiftly to raise funds during this time of need,” Ms Cromarty said.
